Thankful Thursday

Some things I am thankful for today...

...That tomorrow's Friday!! It's been a long week! lol!

...For long awaited answers to prayers! Praise the Lord!
I'm actually really excited to announce this! ;)
I've been praying for about a year now for God to show me what He wanted me to do as far as selling a product on the side.
I was torn between several different products that I enjoy, like Scentsy, Thirty-One, Celebrating Home..and a few others.
But the Lord finally led me to the right one which is Premier Designs jewelry.
Yay!!! I am so excited to finally get into this business and make it my own!
So Lord willing, in a couple weeks, I'll be a Premier Designs jeweller!
Y'all know what that means right? Anytime y'all need some pretty [high fashion] jewelry...I'm your gal! Haha! Just leave me a comment and I'll get up with you somehow about an order ;)

...That I can trust Jesus! "He never once has failed to meet my needs!!"

...That I am finally 21!
*Whoop whoop*
I'm glad that I can finally say it..."I'm 21!" lol!

...That, "All I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
This quote has been a blessing to me lately. I had forgot that I wrote it in the front of my Bible, and so a few days before my birthday I ran across it, and just ever since, I quote it all the time!
I knew for like six months before my birthday that the Lord was going to open some doors after I turned 21, and there were going to be some changes and I was gonna have to step out of my comfort zone and trust Him more, but it really is easier said than done!
I know that I can trust Him...praise God! we can trust Him!! But as a human..and as a woman..I have the natural tendency to want to take care of things on my own, and to worry about things. It's hard not to because that's just how we're made.
But when we finally "let go" and literally "let God," it's the sweetest peace in all the world!
So with this quote, I'd just like to say that even though I don't know what this year is going to bring, or what God will ask of me or what He'll do for me this year, I know what He's done for me in the past, and how that in everything He's ever asked of me before, He's took care of everything, and so I know He'll do it again!!

And last, but not least, I'm thankful that...
Amen!! Yes He is! The only thing in this world worth living for!

It's Different Now

I've been needing a topic to blog about lately other than the usual..catching up on pictures and things lol.
I'll get to that eventually ;)
But the Lord brought something to mind today and I just read a very encouraging post by my dear friend Rebekah and so I thought, what better topic to blog about than the Lord!
I'll never get tired of telling people what He's done for me!

Well, today, I had to go and clean a house I was supposed to do yesterday.
The Lord saw fit to send some freezing rain our way yesterday and so I didn't go anywhere! I was not risking getting hurt or somebody else getting hurt for nothing!

So I went and cleaned this house and as I was sweeping and mopping the last floor, the song, "It's Different Now" came into my head just all of a sudden.

And so I sang my favorite verse of the song and the chorus:

"And now my hopes are bright, I praise Him day and night,
How He could change me so, I know not how.
But praise the Lord it's done! The victory now is won!
Now it's different, yes it's oh so different now!

It's different now, since Jesus saved my soul!
It's different now, since by His Blood I'm whole!
Old Satan had to flee, when Jesus rescued me,
Now it's different, yes it's oh so different now!"

And I just got to thinking about that and how true it is.
I can honestly and whole heartedly say, It's Different Now!!

To look back on where God found me when He saved me...if He hadn't saved me, and rescued me, as the song says, I would have been in Hell a long time ago.
Satan just about had me, but God won my soul before he could take me!
Praise God! I'm so glad!!
And to think about my attitude back then when I was lost, I was sad and depressed all the time, I had no hope! But now I get to live for Jesus every day of my life and I get to sing praise to Him for saving my soul and for just being Who He is!
He is all righteousness! He is Holy! He is worthy!!
And the things I used to do, I don't do them anymore!
"There's been a great change since I've been born again!!!"

And friend, if you know that you're saved, you can remember a day that you asked Jesus to come into your heart and save you, and your life is not different now since that day, then you might just need to check up with the Lord and see what you need to do about that!

I've only been in this thing for 5 1/2 years [6 in April ♥], but that's long enough for me to know that living for the Lord is the only life worth living!
You can live for money, your family, your job, or anything else in this world, but only the life lived for Jesus will satisfy your every need and your wants...more times than not!
He's just so good to His children and when you honor Him with your life, He blesses you with countless blessings everyday.

Psalm 103:1-2:
"Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.."

But as I said earlier, Rebekah did a great post about "All Things New."
I encourage you to go and check it out! It'll be a blessing to you, I'm sure!

And before I end this post, I need to share some birthday pics!

Guess who turned one??

Jaxon!!

It's hard to believe it's already been a year since this little man came into our lives!
He just gets cuter and cuter everyday!
Aunt Erica loves you sweetheart! ♥

And let's not forget about the big brother! ♥

Goodnight y'all!
I hope everyone has a great day in the Lord's house tomorrow! :)

...5 Things About Me...
[random things that y'all wouldn't know]
..I absolutely love nail polish! I think I have about 60 something bottles! lol!  My favorite is red though. More times then not, you'll find me with red nails ;)
..I have a serious addiction to Sun Drop..which is not good because I just found out I have high blood pressure. So no caffeine for me :P
..I was saved on April 20, 2007, so now anytime I see the numbers "420" together, I always thank the Lord for saving me on that date. [There's more to the story as well, if you'd like to know ;)]
..I love bluegrass/bluegrass gospel music. There's just something about a banjo ♥
..And I might lose some followers on this one lol, but I don't like cats. I actually have several dogs but cats..uh uh..can't stand them.

...Answers to My Nominator's Questions...
What is your favorite Scripture verse this year so far?
That's really a tough one. Even though we're only a few days into this year, so many are just a blessing to me all the time.
So here's a couple: Proverbs 3:5-6. I know it seems cliche, but the more I grow in the Lord, and the closer I get to Him, the more I realize just how much I can trust Him. He always knows what's best for me!!
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
And Romans 8:28:
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
I was reminded of this one just tonight and I really needed it when the Lord gave it to me!

Who is your greatest prayer warrior, who do you ask to pray for you and you know they will pray?
Well, this used to be my Pastor's mother, Ms. Brenda, but now that she's in Glory, she's not here to pray for me anymore :(
That was a praying woman if there ever was one!
So now, the lady that I work with, Mrs. Risa, is my prayer warrior.
Any time I need a prayer said, she's on it! And she can get through to God too!
So I thank the Lord for her and I just try to be the blessing to her that she is to me!

What is your favorite song to listen to in the car with the windows down, on a awesome day that just makes you feel good, and reminds you how good God is?
Haha...there's actually several of those as well ;)
But one that I can think of just off the top of my head is a song called, "He Must Have Loved Me A Lot."
The chorus goes:
"And how many tears have I brought to His eyes?
I've hurt Him more often than not.
Still infinite mercy responds to my cry,
Oh, He must have loved me a lot!"
And it just gets me a lot of times cause I just think back on how good God has been to me..even when I was lost!
His grace and mercy is always there, they're infinite! They'll never run out!

What's your current ringtone?
It's an old bluegrass song...Cumberland River.
Sung by Dailey & Vincent :)

Favorite Hymn?
There are so many that could qualify for this.
Literally, sometimes I just sit at the piano and play for hours just hymn after hymn.
They're so deep and so much more spiritual than songs today.
But I think my favorite lately has been "Day By Day."
I just love it ♥

...5 Nominees...
..Mandy at With All Purity. I don't even know if she still blogs or not lol! But I keep up with her on Facebook and man, just about everything she posts is an encouragement to me! And not only that, but she has lost a lot of weight in the last year and that's been an inspiration to me as well as I was working on my own weight loss! But I believe she beat me on how much we lost ;)

..Kali at It's A Wonderful Life. This girl has been a blessing to me! I love the stand that she takes for the Lord...and also the crafts that her and her sister do lol! And they also have an Etsy shop! ;)

..Mrs. Laurie over at Everyday Grace. She's always a blessing! She share songs, Bible verses, and just little encouragements [and some convicting haha!] along the way. She is also a great Godly example of a wife/pastor's wife!

..Jennifer at Where the Green Grass Grows. I love this girl! She's been such a great friend and encouragement to me! And she's also a Carolina girl so she gets me on a lot of things! ;)

And I don't know if I'm allowed to do this or not, but I don't know if anymore of my followers still blog or not :| Sad..I know. But half the people I wanted to tag, aren't on blogger anymore.

..So I nominate Rebekah again at I Have Been Blessed.
[I understand if you don't want to do this again..lol!]
But my goodness...she's been a great friend and a blessing to me so much! She's recently helped me pray over something that was kind of a big thing and she'll never know just how much that meant to me!! To know that she cared enough! And not only that, but the life she lives for our Lord is such an encouragement! She ain't afraid to tell it like it is! Which is what we need these days...young, Godly women who'll do what's right and live what's right no matter what!

Now...the fun part :D

...My 5 Questions...
..If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
..What is your favorite recipe?
..Are you a morning person?
..Favorite quote from a movie?
..What is your favorite nail polish color?

So I reckon that's about it! This was really a lot of fun! :)
Goodnight y'all!

Happy New Year

It is so crazy to think that in just a few days it'll be 2013!
Where did 2012 go?!

Well, of course at the end of every year, just about everybody starts making new year's resolutions and more times then not, they don't stick to them! lol!

I think last year at this time, my biggest desire for 2012 was to be closer to the Lord and to grow in Him more then ever.
And I believe I have.
If anything, He's taught me to trust Him better!
I don't even know if that was something that I knew I needed or not, but He did!

So here at the end of 2012, I'm looking back and realizing just how much I've learned to trust Him more throughout this year.
And I'm reminded of the hymn, "Tis So Sweet to Trust In Jesus," as I think about all this.

"I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend!
And I know that Thou art with me;
Wilt be with me to the end.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er!
 Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus,
O for grace to trust Him more!"

If there was ever a time that I needed the Lord to be with me and to lead and guide and comfort me, it was this year!
And I just thank Him for being there for me!
He's never left me nor forsaken me and I don't believe He ever will!
Thank God for that!!

And another thing that I kinda made as a resolution was to drop some pounds.

Well....
by God's grace...
He allowed me to lose....
*drum roll please*
...lol...
.........
.......
.....24 pounds.....!!

Not a whole lot compared to some, but for me...that's great!!
I don't mean this in a vain way or anything, but I am really proud of myself for sticking with it this time through.
I've tried a lot of different things and I've just gave up on each of them but this time I just kept with it and I know the Lord had to be in it or else it would have never worked! :)
I plan on losing about 15-20 more pounds, if the Lord wills, so I'll keep y'all updated! ;)

Well, so long, until 2013!

Happy New Year!
